Tanith Lee

Tanith Lee wurde 1947 in London geboren. Nach der Schule arbeitete sie in verschiedenen Berufen, als Kellnerin, Bibliothekarin und auch Verkäuferin. Zunächst besuchte sie eine Kunsthochschule, entschied sich dann aber, dass sie lieber schreiben wollte. Sie schrieb weitere Erzählungen und Jugendbücher. Ihren ersten Erfolg hatte sie 1975 mit "Im Herzen des Vulkans", das beim amerikanischen Verlag DAW erschien, da die englischen Verleger sich nicht dafür interessiert hatten. Für diesen Roman erhielt sie den "Nebula Award".
Seither hat sie sehr viele Science-Fiction- und Fantasy-Romane veröffentlicht. 1992 heiratete sie John Kaine und lebt mit ihm in der Nähe von Brighton.
